Fifth Caribbean Clerks Programme

The 5th Caribbean Clerks Programme hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK, in collaboration with the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is currently taking place at the Cabildo Building, Port of Spain, Trinidad. The three day programme runs from 11-13 February, 2025.
Thirty-three delegates from seventeen legislatures have gathered to participate in the programme, with roles ranging from clerks and secretaries to stenographers and research assistants. The programme aims at advancing the expertise of participants by facilitating the sharing of experiences, as well as providing an opportunity for participants to strengthen the networks of clerks and officials from across the Caribbean region, and to reaffirm the relationships between jurisdictions in the Caribbean region and the UK Parliament.
Thus far, it has been a productive and enriching experience for all participants as they were able to share insights, learn from each other and delve into critical topics that are shaping the future of parliamentary practices across the Caribbean, such as the integration of technology in parliament and developing a comprehensive code of conduct.
